Our sessions will normally last 60 - 90 minutes, depending on your problem.
Before we have our first session, we will normally have a 30 minute chat by telephone or face to face, so that I can get an idea of your concerns and give you an indication as to whether I think I will be able to help you. I will ALWAYS tell you if I feel your problem is not something I can deal with.
If we decide to go ahead, we will normally meet for an hour or so, weekly, for between 4 and 6 sessions. This is the normal amount of sessions I'd recommend so that you get the most out of your hypnotherapy.
I don't tend to recommend single sessions or occasional appointments. That's not how hypnotherapy works. I will only recommend and offer treatments that I feel will give you some benefit. It is in my interests, as well as yours, for me to provide you with the best possible treatment for your problem.
An exception to this is smoking cessation, where we often do just one 90 minute to 2 hour session, with another hour follow up after a week or two.
In between the sessions I will normally assign you some homework; for example 30 minutes of mindfulness exercises daily, diaries of your progress, and so on. You must undertake your homework tasks so that our therapy sessions become more effective and we reinforce what has been learnt in the sessions.
Prices vary depending on the nature of your problem. The initial 30 minute consultation sessions are free of charge. If we decide to go ahead with a course of therapy we will discuss prices.
Please note that I offer substantial fee reductions to front-line emergency services staff (ambulance service, police and fire services). I will normally require proof of identification (service IDs) for this.
